With the most sincere regards from the Phrasenschwein.
We have arrived in a little town on the south coast of Flores called Ende. Basically we won't be seeing much of this village as we're leaving tomorrow early again towards Bajawa. So originally we had planned to stay longer at Ankermi with Claudia and Kermi for diving, but we decided to extend the travelling part of our journey. Hence we left early. Nevertheless we managed to see quiet a lot. We went diving twice on one day and saw our first little fish (assuming that my mother doesn't read the brackets: they actually were two gorgeous white tip sharks and one eagle manta!). For the first time we managed to get as deep as 27 meters and it was really a great experience. The crew was very friendly and the diving spots very impressive. Of course neither Judith nor me managed to get through our first week without significant protests of our stomachs, so for now we're both on a diet of white rice and bananas...
Today we saw a great volcano, the Kelimutu with its three coloured lakes. We were driven there by two motorbikes and Judith was driving ahead of me. As she was speaking with her driver with many gestures it looked like she was trying to coordinate the traffic... (when obviously there was no car in sight)
By sunday we are to reach Labuanbajo and probably we are going on a 2d-cruise until Lombok. Crazy how fast time is running here. But people are very friendly, mostly try to help you, wave to you when you drive by.
Greets
